SV Dance Academy Terms & Conditions
1. General
By enrolling in SV Dance Academy, booking a class, or participating in any SV Dance Academy class, rehearsal, performance, competition, camp or workshop, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all students and parents/guardians and should be read alongside any specific information provided for individual classes, performances, competitions, camps or workshops.
2. Academic Year & Class Structure
Our regular academic year runs from September to the end of July.
Our regular timetable provides approximately 46 class sessions across the academic year, with classes running on bank holidays where applicable.
Class schedules may occasionally change due to circumstances such as venue availability, teacher availability or other unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, reasonable notice will be provided.
3. Commitment to Lessons, Rehearsals & Performances
Regular attendance is important to ensure students can progress and that group routines can be taught safely and effectively.
Students taking part in performances, showcases or competitions are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals wherever possible. Frequent absence may affect a student's ability to participate in a performance or competition if they have not received sufficient preparation.
Parents/guardians should notify SV as soon as possible if a student is going to be absent.
SV Dance Academy reserves the right to make the final decision regarding a student's participation in a performance, competition or showcase where attendance, preparation or safety may be affected.
4. Missed Classes
All scheduled classes remain chargeable whether or not a student attends.
Missed classes cannot normally be carried forward, transferred or refunded.
Where appropriate, SV Dance Academy may offer a catch-up class at its discretion, subject to availability. A catch-up class is not guaranteed and does not create an entitlement to a refund or credit.
5. Performances, Showcases & Competitions
Participation in performances, showcases and competitions may involve additional rehearsals, costumes, uniforms, entry fees, tickets or other costs.
Specific information and terms will be provided for individual events where applicable.
By signing up to participate in an event, parents/guardians accept responsibility for ensuring that students attend the required rehearsals and arrive appropriately prepared and dressed.
Additional event costs are separate from regular class tuition unless specifically stated otherwise.
6. Student Conduct
SV Dance Academy is committed to providing a fun, welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment.
Students are expected to:
- Follow teacher instructions.
- Treat staff, other students and visitors respectfully.
- Respect the studio, equipment and facilities.
- Behave safely and appropriately.
Unreasonable, aggressive, disruptive or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.
Where behaviour is ongoing or serious, SV Dance Academy may contact the parent/guardian, restrict participation or, in serious circumstances, ask the student to leave the academy.
7. Safeguarding & Collection
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing accurate and up-to-date emergency contact, collection and safeguarding information.
For students who require collection, parents/guardians must ensure that SV is aware of any authorised adults who may collect them.
Students must not leave SV Dance Academy without appropriate authorisation.
Parents/guardians must inform SV promptly of any changes to collection arrangements, emergency contacts or other information that may affect the safety or safeguarding of the student.
8. Medical Information & Emergencies
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing accurate information regarding any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, medication or other relevant health information that may affect a student's participation.
Parents/guardians should notify SV Dance Academy immediately if there is a change to a student's medical information.
In an emergency, SV Dance Academy staff will take reasonable steps to contact the parent/guardian and seek appropriate medical assistance, including contacting emergency services where necessary.
9. Uniform
Students are expected to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for their class.
Where required, students must wear the appropriate SV Dance Academy branded uniform and suitable bottoms such as leggings, joggers or shorts.
Footwear must be appropriate for the class, including trainers for relevant dance and acro classes and ballet/tap shoes for ballet and tap classes.
Uniform items are purchased through SV Dance Academy and are non-refundable and non-returnable except where required by law or where an item is faulty.
Students may be unable to participate if they arrive wearing inappropriate clothing or footwear where this creates a safety concern.
10. Payments & Monthly Subscriptions
Regular class tuition is paid through a monthly subscription.
The annual cost of regular tuition is pro-rated across September to July and divided into 11 equal monthly payments.
This means the monthly payment remains the same regardless of the number of classes scheduled within a particular month. Monthly payments are instalments towards the student's annual training and are not calculated based on monthly attendance.
Payments are normally collected automatically on or around the 1st of each month through the academy's designated payment system.
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that valid payment details are maintained and that payments are made when due.
Where a payment fails, the payment provider may automatically retry the payment. Any outstanding balance remains the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
SV Dance Academy reserves the right to restrict participation where fees remain unpaid.
If a student starts an additional class during the academic year, the relevant pro-rata amount may be added to the next payment and the monthly subscription will be adjusted accordingly. Parents/guardians will be notified of any change.
11. SV Packages & Multi-Class Discounts
Our current regular class packages are:
SV CLASS — 1 class per week
SV DUO — 2 classes per week — 8% saving
SV TRIO — 3 classes per week — 12% saving
SV PERFORMANCE — 4+ classes per week — 15% saving
SV UNLIMITED — unlimited applicable classes — £175 per month
Students will be placed onto the appropriate package based on their enrolled classes.
Adding or removing classes may result in a change to the student's package and monthly payment.
Workshops, camps and separately priced activities are excluded from the multi-class discount unless specifically stated otherwise.
Competition training may have a separate package and pricing structure.
12. Camps & Workshops
Camps and workshops are booked and paid for separately from regular class tuition unless otherwise stated.
Bookings are generally non-refundable and non-transferable, except where required by law or where SV Dance Academy agrees otherwise.
Specific terms may apply to individual camps, workshops or events.
13. Class Cancellations & Studio Closures
SV Dance Academy will make reasonable efforts to deliver all scheduled classes.
Occasionally, a class may need to be cancelled or changed due to circumstances outside our reasonable control, including extreme weather, building or venue closure, public health concerns, staff emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where possible, SV will seek to offer an alternative arrangement, rescheduled class or suitable alternative.
Where an alternative arrangement is offered, this does not automatically create an entitlement to a refund or credit.
14. Withdrawing or Cancelling a Class
If a student wishes to leave SV Dance Academy or stop attending a specific regular class, 30 days' written notice must be provided by email to:
The student may continue attending their class during the notice period.
Payments remain due during the notice period.
Where appropriate, the final payment may be adjusted on a pro-rata basis so that the subscription ends in line with the required notice period.
15. Refunds & Transfers
Regular class tuition, costumes, camps, workshops and event bookings are generally non-refundable and non-transferable, except where required by law or where SV Dance Academy agrees otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
16. Photography, Video & Social Media
SV Dance Academy may take photographs and videos of students during classes, rehearsals, performances and events.
Parents/guardians will be asked to provide consent for the use of images and videos for purposes such as the SV website, social media and marketing.
Consent is managed separately from these Terms & Conditions, and parents/guardians may withdraw consent in accordance with the academy's stated process.
SV Dance Academy will take reasonable steps to respect recorded photography and video preferences.
17. Lost Property
SV Dance Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings brought onto the premises.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to clearly label students' belongings.
18. Complaints & Feedback
We welcome feedback and want to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible.

19. Changes to These Terms & Conditions
SV Dance Academy may update these Terms & Conditions where reasonably necessary, including where there are changes to our services, pricing, procedures or legal requirements.
Where a change is material, reasonable notice will be provided where appropriate.
The most current version of the Terms & Conditions will be made available through SV Dance Academy's website or other appropriate communication channels.
20. Acceptance
By enrolling a student with SV Dance Academy, making a booking or continuing to attend classes, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that the information provided to SV Dance Academy is accurate and kept up to date.
