SV Dance Academy Terms & Conditions

When joining SV Dance Academy or participating in any of our camps and workshops, you agree to follow the terms and conditions outlined below.

Commitment to Lessons, Rehearsals & Performances

Regular attendance is essential to ensure students gain the skills and knowledge required to progress. If classes are missed frequently, a student may not meet the standard needed to participate in performances. Please be aware that absences not only impact the individual’s progress but can also affect group routines and other students.

We understand that occasional absences may be unavoidable due to special circumstances. In such cases, please notify the principal as soon as possible. If classes need to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. extreme weather, public health concerns), refunds or compensation cannot be provided. However, SV Dance Academy will always aim to offer alternative classes or arrangements where possible.

Uniform & Student Conduct

Wearing the correct attire is important to ensure safety and support performance. Students must wear at least one item of SV Dance Academy branded uniform, along with appropriate bottoms such as leggings, joggers, or shorts. Footwear must align with the class type — trainers for dance and acro classes, ballet or tap shoes for ballet and tap classes.

All uniform items are available to purchase through our website. Please note that uniform orders are non-returnable and non-refundable. If a student arrives wearing inappropriate attire, they may not be allowed to participate due to safety concerns.

We are committed to providing a fun, welcoming, and respectful environment. Unreasonable or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. In extreme or ongoing cases, this may result in the student being asked to leave SV Dance Academy.

Payments

All class payments are processed via a monthly subscription plan, which is charged automatically on the 1st of each month. The annual tuition is split into 11 equal monthly payments from September to July.

Payments are taken through ClassForKids using a recurring card payment system. We have opted for this method over direct debit to provide greater flexibility — if a payment fails, it will automatically be retried up to two additional times without impacting your credit score.

When setting up your subscription, you will receive an email prompting you to enter your card details. Initially, you’ll be placed on a temporary plan (£0/month) until we apply your personalised subscription (which may include a multi-class discount). You’ll then receive a confirmation email with your monthly payment amount. Card details only need to be entered once per academic year.

This subscription is the only accepted payment method at SV Dance Academy, allowing us to reduce admin time and focus on delivering high-quality classes and opportunities for our students.

If your child starts a new or additional class mid-month, a pro-rata fee will be added to your next subscription payment, and your plan will be adjusted accordingly. You will be notified of any changes by email.

Please note:

  • Payments for camps and workshops are processed separately as one-off payments.
  • All scheduled classes are chargeable, even if a student does not attend.
  • Late fees may apply to overdue invoices.
  • Instructors have the right to refuse participation if fees remain unpaid.
  • All class, costume, camp, and workshop fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • The principal reserves the right to adjust fees when necessary.

Multi-Class Discount

We offer the following multi-class discounts for students enrolled in multiple subscription-based classes:

  • 2 classes – 10% off the total monthly subscription
  • 3 classes – 15% off the total monthly subscription
  • 4 or more classes – 20% off the total monthly subscription

Please note: Competition classes, workshops, and camps are excluded from the multi-class discount.

Emergencies

By joining SV Dance Academy, you authorise staff to contact emergency medical services on behalf of the student if necessary.

Lost Property

SV Dance Academy is not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings, including money or items of value, brought onto the premises.

Withdrawing or Cancelling a Class

If your child decides to leave SV Dance Academy or wishes to stop attending a specific class, we require 30 days’ notice in writing to cancel your subscription.

If the 1st of the month falls within the 30-day notice period, the final payment will be adjusted accordingly.

Amendments to Terms & Conditions

SV Dance Academy reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time, without prior notice. Any changes will take effect immediately upon publication.
